Drifters Canal & River Trust Staff Discounts

Drifters is made up of nine canal boat hire companies, all upholding industry standards of excellence.

Together we offer the choice of over 500 boats from 40 locations across England, Wales and Scotland.

Those eligable for the Canal & River Trust Staff Discount

We offer a 10% discount on our holidays to:

Canal & River Trust colleagues:
Canal & River Trust contractor staff working on Canal & River Trust contracts, including employees from Kier, JN Bentley, Forkers, CPC Civils, Jackson Engineering, Brehemy, Onsite, Land & Water, Ebsford, AMCO, Arcadis, Pell Frishmann, Ground Control and Dovetail Group; and
Canal & River Trust Council, Partnership or Advisory Group members.

Please note:

The discount applies to the boat hire cost listed on our website and does not apply to any extras, such as fuel or damage waiver.
The discount is subject to availability, and cannot be used in conjuction with any other offers (unless already applied online).
The CRT person claiming the discount must be the Hirer, responsible for the boat, and present throughout the holiday.
In the case of booking more than one boat, the discount is available only on boats for which condition 3 applies. Additional boats will be subject to the Operator’s normal Flotilla Discount, if applicable.

ABC Boat Hire

200 boats from 16 bases spread right across the canal network including Scotland. ABC Boat Hire is the largest boat hire company on the canals, but still maintains the high traditions of customer service and top quality boats that the founders instilled when there was just one yard called Alvechurch Boat Centres.

Anglo Welsh Waterways Holidays

With a choice of 9 bases and 150 boats, their cruising options are varied and extensive, with many out and back trips, or cruising rings to choose from.

Black Prince Holidays

100 boats from 9 bases. Black Prince is one of the biggest companies on the canals with strategically situated bases that enable you to explore virtually all the main canals of England, Scotland and Wales.

Shire Cruisers

17 boats from two bases in Yorkshire and (just) Lancashire. Yorkshire’s longest-established hire fleet offers you the rare chance to explore all the county’s navigable waterways, including all three trans-Pennine canals.

Countrywide Cruisers

16 boats from one base in Staffordshire. A small, family company operating from the picture postcard village of Brewood on the Shropshire Union Canal.

Napton Narrowboats

Offering a choice of high quality narrowboats for hire from two bases, Napton Narrowboats offers over 25 years of experience and personal service. The company has boat yards at Napton on the Oxford Canal and Autherley Junction on the Shropshire Union Canal.

Kate Boats

Operating out of Stockton Top Marina on the Grand Union Canal in Warwickshire, Kate Boats is a family owned narrowboat holiday business offering a range of high quality canal boats for hire.

Foxhangers

Based at Devizes in Wiltshire, Foxhangers is family owned and run and has been offering quality self-drive narrowboat holidays on the Kennet & Avon Canal since 1997.

Union Canal Carriers

Offering self-drive narrowboat holidays from its base at Braunston in the heart of the canal network, Union Canal Carriers is a family owned and run business that has been offering canal boats for hire for over 50 years.
