The Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal
The Staffs. and Worcs. Canal is one of the early canals, opened in 1772. It twists and winds its way from its junction with the Trent and Mersey at Great Haywood down to the River Severn at Stourport.
The canal is wooded and rural, despite passing close to Kidderminster and Wolverhampton, and has many attractive features such as sandstone cuttings, the Bratch locks and Kinver village.
